This was published in 2020, so I’m counting it as a new book and not doing a full recap, just a general review. Also, has any time actually passed since 2020? I feel like we’ve been drifting timelessly in a void.
Title: Secret Santa
Author: Andrew Shaffer (Seriously, check out this link. To say this author is wide-ranging would be beyond understatement.)
What This Is: Monster-in-the-House Horror, set mostly (apart from a prologue and a final scene) in the 80s, at a publishing house that does for publishing what the Overlook did for hospitality.
Definitely worth buying. Smooth flow, well-written, characters I liked and cared for (or feared, depending), and a creature I kept picturing as “a labubu but slightly more evil.”
